Myanmar, Myitkyina is a city located at the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy river in the north of Kachin state. Myitkyina is a choice for travelers that wish to see a very different area of Myanmar. Myitkyina was for me one of the first places in my Wishlist during my visit to Myanmar. Myitkyina is at the moment a less touristic place, it has also the opportunity to descent by boat across the Ayeyarwaddy river to Mandalay. This is one of many facts that makes Myitkyina interesting. My first intention is to remain in this city for 2 days, however during my stay here i extended this to 4 days. This as every day becomes one of many interesting and remarkable meetings with the kind people there.
Being located near Ayeyarwaddy river with the mountains at close range Myitkyina has a lot to offer for those that desire to discover it. The people here are very polite and social. The pictures on my pages will give you the impressions of it… During my stay i made good friends, discovered the area near the mountains. It is recommended to rent a motorbike possible with driver. The prices are about 2000 to 3000 Kyat per hour. In my next Myitkyina Kachin State Page i will write our trip in the mountains North of this special Myanmar city.
