Bagan embrace the memories of the ancient Pagan Empire

Arriving and staying in Bagan is quite an amazing experience. It feels as you arrive back in the 9th to 13th century. In this period this city was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan. Interesting to realize that Pagan was the first kingdom that unified the regions that later would become the modern Myanmar.

During this period over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan area. Fortunately still of over 2200 temples and pagodas have survived the ages. Because of this we are able to enjoy the reflections of moments of Pagan on this present day. The city was renamed Bagan in the 14th century… Bagan is nowadays called Old Bagan though The sign Bagan can still be found when entering this beautiful area…

Located very close to Old Bagan are the towns New Bagan and Naung-U. Bagan is a very touristic area, however when you remain here for several days, you really experience the warmth and kindness of the local people. You can go cycling by self powered or electric through the area of this 2200 giant monumental icons of history. It is really impossible to miss the spirit of the ancient Kingdoms that still lives here today through these monuments.

Also the Bagan Golden Palace is a place to feel the spirit of the former regents.. Make yourself ready for a Bagan mystery tour that always thrills you… When the area has fully filled your daydreaming needs, there is also the possibility to take a trip across the river by boat… If you choose to go by boat across the Ayarwaddy river, you have the opportunity to visit Myit Chai, Lan Ywar and Siekphyu.
